WELCOME TO COMMUNITIES IN SCHOOLS OF JACKSONVILLE
For over three decades, Communities In Schools of Jacksonville has been an instrument of hope and support for the youth of our community. Since our inception in 1990, we've touched the lives of more than 110,000 individual students. Many of our students face serious challenges, from the daily struggle of hunger to the heartbreaking reality of homelessness.
Communities In Schools of Jacksonville exists to make sure that no child's potential is hindered by the adversities they face. Our staff works both inside and outside the classroom to help these students find new paths to success through our case management, literacy tutoring, and afterschool programs.
PROVIDING STUDENTS WITH A COMMUNITY OF SUPPORT
In Duval County, approximately one in every four children under the age of 18 live in poverty. Students endure not just economic hardship but also face a complex web of challenges, including homelessness, racial inequity, hunger, and mental health issues.
Our commitment is to create a strong, resilient, and caring support system for these vulnerable students, helping them not only stay in school but also thrive in life. We envision a Communities in Schools program where every person, regardless of their background or circumstances, is capable of reaching their greatest potential.
Our goal extends beyond individual success stories. We believe that by investing in their potential, we are building a brighter, healthier, and economically stable future for our entire community.
The results of our efforts speak for themselves, and we invite you to explore our impact report from the previous school year to learn more about our accomplishments. It reveals the transformative power of support and the resilience of our students.

"The true stars are the students themselves. Our team provides the tools to help them take control of their lives, but it's up to them to take those next steps."
